Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) procurement refers to the purchase of goods or services, undertaken by the AAD (representing the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment) for its own consumption including:
- consultancies and professional services
- maintenance and material supply contracts
- facilities contracts
- capital equipment
The Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) are issued by the Minister for Finance under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). These rules apply to the procurement of all goods and services and outline the fundamental policies and principles that underpin AAD procurement. They articulate the requirements for officials conducting procurement on behalf of the AAD, in the design, conduct and management of all aspects of AAD procurement.
